Dodging in The Surge 2 is as simple as pressing the A button on Xbox One, X on PS4, or the Space bar on PC. You’ll also want to use your left analog stick on the consoles, or your mouse on the PC to direct your dodge.

This is particularly important, as otherwise, you can find yourself dodging into enemies or attacks, and that’s definitely not what we’re trying to achieve here.

Simply point the left analog stick in the direction you want to dodge in, press the button, and your character will quickly shift in that direction.

It’s also worth noting that if you press and hold A / X you’ll then begin sprinting which can be handy for closing down the distance between yourself and an enemy quickly.

Using the Dodge move is a great way to help you keep your health bar looking… healthy. Dodge creates the space necessary to avoid big attacks from enemies, and need to be done to avoid any attacks that have large swings.

Dodge is also particularly useful for keeping your distance from enemies that can jump or otherwise move in on you quickly, so make sure that you’re making use of this whenever you’re taking heavy damage or you get stuck on a particular enemy type.
