Stranger of Paradise brings a Final Fantasy spin-off adventure to players on PlayStation and Xbox consoles, as well as those playing on PC. With a co-op multiplayer mode thrown in for good measure, some players may be wondering if there’s cross-platform play in Stranger of Paradise, allowing those on Xbox and PlayStation consoles to play with one another.
Is Stranger of Paradise Cross-Platform Between Xbox, PlayStation and PC?
Unfortunately, no, Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin does not crossplay between different families of consoles in its multiplayer.
For example, someone on an Xbox Series X|S cannot play with someone on a PlayStation 4 or 5.
However, the game does allow for someone playing on an Xbox One to play with someone on a Series X|S, and those on PS4 and PS5 to play together. PC players can only play with one another, and not players on either family of consoles.
This information was shared as part of a press release that announced the release of the demo on PlayStation consoles last week.
Given this, it’s unlikely that the situation will ever change, as it’s highly rare that games that do not feature crossplay at release receive the functionality further down the line unless multiplayer is the main component or mode of the game.
Should cross-platform multiplayer be announced for Stranger of Paradise, we’ll update this post and let you know.
