Is State of Decay 2 Coming to PS4?

The newest open world zombie game is just around the corner, with State of Decay 2 releasing on May 22 for Xbox One and Microsoft Windows. Like the previous title, it promises a tense atmosphere that requires careful planning, resource collection, and surviving. With the game due out later this month, many might be wondering if we could see State of Decay 2 on other consoles, like the PS4.

Unfortunately, this is unlikely to happen in the near future, or at all honestly. Undead Labs, the developer of State of Decay 2, is currently in the middle of a multi-year agreement with Microsoft Studios, and, just like the first game, it’s unlikely this one will come to anything other than Xbox One and PC. In a 2011 Q&A, Undead Labs said Microsoft was one of the only publishers that shared their vision for State of Decay 2, hence why the partnership was born.

For the time being, PS4 owners will need to look elsewhere to get their zombie fix, with games like The Last of Us and Resident Evil. Early 2019 will also see the release of Days Gone, a big new open world zombie title from Sony Bend, the developers of the Syphon Filter series and Uncharted: Golden Abyss.
