How to Play Multiplayer Beta in Stardew Valley

Recommended Videos

Stardew Valley is an incredibly compelling farming simulator that, for quite some time now, has been a single-player experience. Fortunately, developer Chucklefish has been hard at work on a multiplayer mode for the title, and it just so turns out that a multiplayer beta has just hit the PC version of the game. Here’s what you need to know to play the multiplayer beta in Stardew Valley.

First things first, you’ll need to make sure that your copy of Stardew Valley is updated to version 1.3 on Steam. Once you’ve done this, right click on Stardew Valley from your Games Library and select Properties. You’ll then want to choose the ‘Betas’ option, and enter “jumpingjunimos” as the access code.

Hit the Check Code option and then simply select the beta branch option that appears. Click OK and you should now have the multiplayer beta for Stardew Valley.

Once you’ve loaded the game up, you’re going to select the co-op option from the main menu. You’ll now be greeted with the options to either Join or Host. Under Join, you can select the LAN Game option, or enter an invite code that your friend who’s hosting will need to send over to you.

Under Invite, you’ll be able to select the farm and will be provided with the invite code to get started.

That’s all you need to do to get into and play the multiplayer beta for Stardew Valley on PC. Currently, it remains to be seen when the multiplayer beta will come to consoles, if at all.
