How to Breed Your Pets in The Sims 4: Cats & Dogs

Recommended Videos

In The Sims 4: Cats & Dogs, you can breed your pets to ensure you have a big, happy family of animals surrounding your sims. Or, you know, for a bit of extra profit. Regardless of your reasoning, it will take a bit of time to produce a litter of pets. Here’s how!

First and foremost, you’re going to need to be friends with your pet. Work up your friendship with them until you’re both at the “Friend” level. Pet them, talk to them, hug them, do whatever you want to get there. Once you’re there, you will unlock the Friendly speech option of “Encourage to Mate With…” This is what you want to select in order to encourage them to mate with a specific animal. That animal is going to need to be of the opposite sex of your pet, and they need to be currently on the lot.

Once you have the choice you want, it’s time to get them breeding! Select them and your little furry friend will run up to the specific dog or cat. A lovely animation will play, and you’ll now need to wait a day to see if it worked out. If it didn’t, you can just encourage them again. If it did, though, you’ll soon have a litter to deal with in The Sims 4: Cats & Dogs!
