While it’s only been a couple of years since the release of the original Persona 5, Atlus has wasted no time in pushing out a new and improved version of the game, packed with tons of new additional content and gameplay mechanics. Here’s everything you need to know about the brand new Thieves’ Den in Persona 5 Royal.
Thieves’ Den in Persona 5 Royal
The Thieves’ Den functions as a cool little hub that you and your fellow Phantom Thieves can hang out in whenever you want to take a break from the regular flow of the game. Going to the Thieves’ Den doesn’t take up any time at all, and you can access it whenever you’re not in a dungeon.
How to Access Thieves’ Den in Persona 5 Royal
In Persona 5 Royal, you’ll be able to access the Thieves’ Den once you’ve cleared the first dungeon of the game, Kamoshida’s Castle. Simply keep playing through the story until you’ve reached the sushi outing with Ryuji, Morgana, and Ann, where they’ll officially form the Phantom Thieves organization.
After that, when you get home to Leblanc, you’ll receive a notification stating that the Thieves’ Den is now available to you.
To get in, simply bring up the character menu with the triangle button, then choose the Thieves’ Den option all the way at the bottom to check it out.
Customizing the Thieves’ Den
This new area can be customized freely to your heart’s content, and more decorative and cosmetic items will be unlocked as you progress through more of the main story. You’ll be able to customize the appearance of the Den itself, as well as the background music that plays while you’re here.
To do this, head over to the vending machine near the entrance/exit of the Den and interact with it. From here, you’ll see several categories of items that you can buy, including layouts for the Den, as well as statues that you can place around.
The vending machine also allows you to move around any items that you’ve already bought so you can decorate it to your liking.
If you head further into the Thieves’ Den in Persona 5 Royal, you’ll also find a terminal that you can interact with that allows you to purchase music. Again, more music will be available for purchase as you progress through the story, so you can buy the tracks here and set them as your active BGM.
There’s also a large screen at the back of the Den, which lets you purchase and unlock cutscenes and animated scenes that you’ve already unlocked in the story. Finally, if you head up to the second floor of the Den, there are floor tiles that you can step on to change your playable character in the Thieves’ Den.
Playing Cards and Gambling
Finally, there’s one more activity you can take part in while in the Thieves’ Den. By interacting with one of the casino tables on the first floor, you can play the card game Tycoon with your fellow teammates.
There are three levels of difficulty: casual, competitive, and cutthroat, and the AI will get more aggressive depending on which level you’re on.
That’s all you need to know about the Thieves’ Den in Persona 5 Royal. Be sure to search for Twinfinite for more tips and information on the game.
