Pathfinder: Kingmaker’s kingdom management system may appear uncomplicated. However, successfully ruling over expanding territory requires strategic planning on the player’s part. Unless you’re a fan of revolutions and ruinations, seek help from this handy guide. Steer your nation towards success through our Pathfinder: Kingmaker Kingdom Management Guide.

The Basics

Pathfinder: Kingmaker’s kingdom management system scores your budding kingdom according to ten stats. Each comes with a unique advisor position:

  • The Community stat represents the current population of the country. The Regent oversees the happiness of the kingdom, hearing your subject’s concerns and complaints.
  • The Loyalty stat represents the ruler’s favor among their citizens. The Councilor deals with disputes and issues about the common folk. Also, they see to it that citizens remain loyal to the throne.
  • The Military stat represents the army’s prowess and their ability to stave off threats to your territories. The General holds the highest rank in the military and retains responsibility for meting out threats to the kingdom.
  • The Economy stat represents the current productivity of the state and directly affects the kingdom’s income. The Treasurer oversees the kingdom’s funds, ensuring gold is spent wisely and financial matters handled.
  • The Divine stat represents the kingdom’s support of religious works and level of piety to the gods. The High Priest strives to solve the citizenry’s spiritual needs, dealing with issues of faith.
  • The Relations stat represents the diplomatic ties of the kingdom, both external and internal. Until the Community stat reaches Rank III, the Regent handles all Relation matters. Once achieved, the Grand Diplomat maintains relations with foreign powers and your citizenry.
  • The Arcane stat represents the kingdom’s current accumulation of arcane knowledge and ongoing development of new arcane practices. Until the Divine Stat reaches Rank III, the High Priest handles all Arcane kingdom matters. Once reached, the Magister promotes higher learning and magic, supporting efforts of academics, mages, and scientists.
  • The Stability Stat represents internal security and the compliance of your subjects. Until the Military stat reaches Rank III, the General handles all Stability kingdom matters. Once reached, the Warden oversees peace-keeping efforts within the kingdom. They’ll protect law-abiding citizens and punish those who break it.
  • The Culture stat measures the cultural and educational developments of your kingdom and its subjects. Until the Loyalty stat reaches Rank III, the Councilor handles all Culture-related kingdom matters. Once achieved, the Curator oversees education and artistic expression throughout the kingdom.
  • The Espionage stat represents the current influence of your spy network and counter-intelligence efforts. Until the Relations stat reaches Rank III, The Grand Diplomat handles all Espionage related matters. Once achieved, the Minister performs clandestine actions and stops foreign plots on the kingdom’s behalf.

First and foremost, fill each available advisory position. Filling these will allow you to advance the status of the kingdom, build income, and retain more territory.

To keep your kingdom stable, invest accumulated Building Points (BP) towards leveling stats up. To level them up, you’ll need to succeed with projects, events, and city development.

Pathfinder: Kingmaker Kingdom Management Guide – Advancing Your Kingdom

Events arise each month in Pathfinder: Kingmaker’s kingdom management meta-game. Prioritize completing these during the earlier phases of your campaign. If left unattended for too long, these opportunities will expire and may result in adverse stat changes.

Projects often require more time to complete, but result in far more dramatic changes to the kingdom. Whether that’s leveling up a stat or negotiating lucrative trade deals, these projects play a crucial role in improving life within the nation.

Play an even divide between leveling the first five advisory stats if possible. Doing so will open up the remaining advisory roles and keep the country stable.

City development works straightforwardly. Our Pathfinder: Kingmaker building guide provides the necessary groundwork for starting political development. But remember – add buildings that will advance lagging stats within the kingdom. Keeping your stats leveled evenly ensures the respective advisor can accomplish current events and projects.

With the starting BP given when crowned Baron of the Stolen Lands, invest in city development first. Projects don’t expire throughout the game. Therefore trade deals, curse research, and advisor leveling should come after attending to all known events.

Pathfinder: Kingmaker Kingdom Management Guide – Keeping The Country Stable

Pathfinder: Kingmaker’s kingdom management contributes an overall level of stability to the Baron’s territory. Successfully leveling up stats, completing events, and building new additions to cities will ensure your kingdom remains stable.

The six levels of stability include:

  • Serene – The citizens remain enthusiastic and loyal to the Baron/King/Queen. +1 Modifier to all advisor event rolls
  • Stable – The citizens remain content with the kingdom’s rule, and believe in the legitimacy of the ruler. +/- 0 Modifier to all advisor event rolls.
  • Worried – Recent events have made the kingdom’s citizens uneasy. They look to the ruler for guidance but remain wary of their ability to protect the nation. -1 Modifier to all advisor event rolls.
  • Troubled – Recent events lead to general unrest throughout the kingdom. Citizens begin to question the legitimacy of their ruler. -2 Modifier to all advisor event rolls.
  • Rioting – Open revolt has taken hold across the region! The citizens do not believe in the ruler’s legitimacy. -3 Modifier to all advisor event rolls.
  • Crumbling – Anarchy and a weak power structure has lead to a destabilized region. Ruler holds on to their lands through name only. -4 Modifier to all advisor event rolls. If a significant amount of time remains spent in this state, the current game will end.

Generally, story-related quests contribute to the current level of regional stability. When a new main quest presents itself, make sure to tackle it immediately. Too many events attributed to an ongoing crisis will result in lower stability throughout your territory.

Counter lowered stability through specific projects available during Pathfinder: Kingmaker’s late game. For example, feasts can raise the kingdom’s stability and save players from disaster.

Players armed with this knowledge can plan before their rule fails. If you still struggle with Pathfinder: Kingmaker’s kingdom management, check out this  Steam user guide for even more useful tips.
