Is There Splitscreen Co-Op Multiplayer in Octopath Traveler?
Octopath Traveler is the latest RPG from the legendary team at Square Enix. In the game, players follow the stories of eight protagonists, each with their own unique story, abilities, and aspirations. You’ll have the option to choose which character you want to control at the beginning of the game, but that doesn’t mean you’re not going to see the others at all during your playthrough of Octopath Traveler. Considering there are eight different main characters that you’ll meet on your adventure in Octopath Traveler, chances are you may have been wondering whether or not it’s possible for your friends to control them in a bout of splitscreen co-op multiplayer action. After all, what could make a lengthy, engaging RPG than enjoying it with some of your friends no matter where you are? Here’s what you need to know regarding splitscreen co-op multiplayer, and any multiplayer options for that matter, in Octopath Traveler.
Sadly, Octopath Traveler has no multiplayer features whatsoever. Whether you were hoping to play splitscreen co-op, local co-op, or even teaming up with friends or other random players thanks to the marvels of online play, Octopath Traveler has none of this. It’s solely a single-player experience, and while this may come as disappointing news for some players, it’s still absolutely worth your time checking out.
As is always the case, there’s always the chance that some sort of multiplayer feature could be added into the game via an update, but we wouldn’t hold our breaths if we were you. Perhaps if it sells well, it might be something we could see in a potential sequel. Only time will tell.
That’s everything that you need to know about whether or not the game has splitscreen co-op multiplayer. We’ll have our full impressions of the game and plenty more guides to help you along your journey in Octopath Traveler very soon.
