What the Fire Icon Means in NBA 2K19
NBA 2K19 is back and mixing things up with a few exciting changes. One of the newest tweaks in the game is an all-new Takeover system. Chances are, you’ve probably seen some sort of fire icon on your screen during matches. This symbol falls in line with the updated NBA 2K19 Takeover system, taking cues from the arcade classic, NBA Jam. That said, here’s what the fire icon means when you see it in NBA 2K19.
During a match, you should see some sort of meter alongside some of your character’s stats in NBA 2K19. You can build this meter by pretty much playing well, performing actions such as dropping dimes, playing defense, showing hustle, and other moves that help you and your team.
On the other hand, the meter will drop as you continue to slip up, whether its missing shots or playing bad defense, among other things. That certain meter is for your Takeover, and once it’s full, you’ll get that fire icon in the game. This literally translates to your character being “on fire,” or that you’re playing exceptionally well in your match in NBA 2K19.
Moreover, having that fire icon grants some special animations and badges depending on your character’s archetype. You and your other teammates can active Takeovers at the same time, which leads to some pretty cool combos during matches. For a better look at everyone else’s meter, simply press the left bumper button to see how soon everyone is to achieving their Takeovers.
That pretty much wraps up what that fire icon means in NBA 2K19. For more tips and tricks on the game, make sure to check out our wiki. We have plenty of other useful guides that will help you dominate the court and win your games.
