How to Upgrade Attributes in NBA 2K18

If you’re wanting to get your player to the elusive 99 rating in NBA 2K18, then you’ll want to make sure to upgrade attributes after playing games. After all, you can’t get better if someone doesn’t magically pour skill points into your stats, right? Here’s what you need to know to upgrade attributes in NBA 2K18.

The main way to do this is by spending your hard-earned VC. This can be earned by completing matches throughout your career, or by purchasing it via microtransactions in the game. Once you’ve got some VC ready to spend, press Triangle (Y on Xbox One) to open up the navigation menu and select Attributes which is about halfway down. You’ll then want to press Up on your d-pad to gain access to all of the different attributes of your player.

You should now see all of your different player attributes in NBA 2K18. Simply select the one you want to upgrade and then spend your VC on making them even better in that specific stat.

You can also upgrade these by doing some drills over at the training facility. You can do three drills between each game in NBA 2K18 and these will allow you to slowly but surely rank up your badges and improve your rating.

These are the main two ways you can permanently upgrade attributes in NBA 2K18. However, if you’re looking for a quick fix to get you through a tough game, be sure to head over to the Gatorade fueling center. Here, you’ll find one-time consumable items whose effects will be enabled in the next game, but once the match is over, their effects will be, too.
