How to Get the Remnant VI Pet in Mass Effect: Andromeda

Recommended Videos

Mass Effect: Andromeda is an RPG that takes itself pretty seriously, much like its predecessors. Usually, RPGs of that sort don’t have much in the way of “pets,” but thanks to a lively crew member, you actually do get one… sort of. As you play through the game, you’ll get special missions from your crew members, but the one you’ll want to pay attention to is the one you get from Peebee, whom you acquire after completing the first main mission on Eos.

Peebee is very into Remnant technology, which she shortens to Rem-tech just to make conversation much simpler. If you collect the parts she requests (which isn’t difficult at all as the game tells you exactly where to go) she’ll eventually ask you to meet her at her apartment on Nexus. When you arrive there, she’ll have a fully functional Remnant Observer there that she managed to hack and reprogram to be your buddy. This unlocks the “unknown” skill that you may have noticed in the Tech tree: Remnant VI. You can summon this pet whenever you want during a mission and it will fight for you, you can even have it target specific enemies.

The best part? It’s not a timed construct. It will stay out until it dies, following you around where you go. And if it dies you can re-summon it after a few seconds. It’s perfect for flanking weak enemies who are using lots of cover and for finishing off and distracting tougher foes.
