Lost Sphear: How Long it Takes to Beat
Lost Sphear is the latest title from Tokyo RPG Factory and Square Enix, and it’s a sort of spiritual successor to 2016’s I Am Setsuna. Both games have a similar look and feel, and each use a similar Chrono Trigger-inspired turn-based combat system. That isn’t to suggest Lost Spear is little more than a reskin, however, as there are plenty of unique features here beyond its story. Lost Sphear builds on a lot of what I Am Setsuna did well, including the combat which is just as tactical, fast-paced, and fun. The story and characters in our opinion aren’t quite as memorable as I Am Setsuna’s, but overall we still felt it was worth giving a go in our full review of the game. You might be at this page because you’re thinking about picking up Lost Sphear and you want to know how long it takes to beat, just so you know you’re getting your money’s worth. Or, you might be knee deep in the game already and trying to figure out how much longer you have to go.
Lost Sphear is a pretty meaty game but doesn’t stretch out too long to wear out its welcome. It should take the average JRPG fan that is mostly just playing through the story and is stopping at a few detours along the world map about 20-30 hours to complete. It’s length is quite similar to I Am Setsuna’s. If you’re speeding through as fast as you possibly can, skipping dialogue/cutscenes and avoiding any deaths, you can maybe get through it a bit quicker than that 20-hour mark. There are a lot of long cutscenes, tough bosses that might force a reload, and backtracking to do though. If you’re intent on 100% completing Lost Sphear or are going for its platinum trophy, you’ll likely go way over 30 hours.
That does it for how long it takes to beat Lost Sphear.
