Trophy and Achievement hunters will have their hands full with Kingdom Hearts 3, which boasts a number of tasks and challenges for players to complete, key among them being to figure out how to get the Thermosphere trophy and achievement.

One of Kingdom Hearts 3’s few gold trophies, Thermosphere requires players to take down the secret Gummi Ship boss the Schwarzgeist.

Unlike other bosses in the game, this one requires players to craft a ship capable of breaking through the typhoon in the center of the Misty Stream system.

How to Reach the Schwarzgeist Boss in Kingdom Hearts 3

To do so, players will need to craft a Main Ship and Teeny Ships with a grand total speed of 200 or more.

This can be done by swapping out the Highland Peak’s Vernier movement Gummi Blocks for Rocket/G’s and equipping a T-Highwind Peak on either side of the ship.

Once this is done, players need only fly into the center of the Misty Stream’s typhoon to initiate the battle.

How to Beat the Schwarzgeist Boss in Kingdom Hearts 3

This is where the real challenge to get the Thermosphere Trophy and Achievement begins. Armed with multiple beam blocking shields, the Schwarzgeist can take most anything you throw at it in stride, peppering you with beams all the while.

And that only covers the threat the first form poses. After successfully taking down the main body, the Schwarzgeist spits out a smaller and more aggressive ship for you to take down, this time while avoiding twice as much fire from a fast moving target.

It’s challenging to be sure, but not impossible once you’ve obtained some of the late-game ship models.

Hold off on trying to obtain this trophy until you have a ship on par with or better than the Highwind Peak and you shouldn’t have much trouble toppling this secret boss and nabbing the Thermosphere Trophy and Achievement.
