How to Get Stellar Jade in Honkai Star Rail

Time to go questing.

Developed by miHoYo, Honkai: Star Rail is a turn-based RPG that certainly takes a lot of cues from Genshin Impact in terms of UI and menu designs. And, of course, it’s also a gacha game that allows you to spend premium currency to pull different characters and Light Cones. Here’s how you can get Stellar Jade in Honkai: Star Rail.

All Methods of Getting Stellar Jade in Honkai Star Rail

Listed below are all the ways you can get Stellar Jade in Honkai: Star Rail:

  • Quest completion
  • Opening chests
  • Purchasing with real money
  • Daily logins

At the time of writing, Honkai: Star Rail is still in beta testing, which means that the in-game store isn’t fully open just yet. There’s no way of purchasing Stellar Jade with real money, but once the game officially launches, we’ll update this article with all the pack prices available in the store.

For F2P players, your best bet of racking up Stellar Jade will be via world exploration and trying to complete as many quests as possible. Similar to Genshin Impact, you can open chests and complete quests to earn the currency, though you’ll likely need to be conscientious of how and when you spend it, and be a little more frugal in trying to save.

Quest Completion

Most main story quests in Honkai: Star Rail will reward you with a bit of Stellar Jade, so pushing through the campaign will be your best source of income in the early stages. While completing story quests, various side quests will also pop up along the way. If you want to rack up as much Stellar Jade as possible, you’ll need to look into completing these as well.

Not all side quests will reward you with Stellar Jade –though the rewards are still very useful– so you don’t have to prioritize them, but just keep them in the back of your mind as you’re playing through the game.

Opening Chests

puzzle chests in honkai: star rail

As you’re exploring the world, you’ll inevitably come across treasure chests tucked away in the corners. Opening these will reward you with useful resources, as well as a very small amount of Stellar Jade. However, there are red chests that will yield a little more Stellar Jade than the regular ones.

The red chests are usually locked behind some kind of puzzle mechanism, similar to the trick chests we saw in Genshin Impact. Whenever you see a red chest, look around your immediate surroundings for any inconspicuous items like black poles or translucent floor tiles.

The floor tile puzzles usually require you to activate every tile without stepping on duplicate ones, while the pole puzzles might be a little trickier as you’ll usually need to hit them with specific elements. If you don’t have the right characters in your party, those puzzles will be impossible to do, so just leave them and come back when you have the right setup.

That’s all you need to know about how to get Stellar Jade in Honkai: Star Rail. Be sure to search for Twinfinite for more tips and information on the game, including our interview with miHoYo where the developers discuss some of the bigger design decisions in Star Rail.
