How to play slayer in Halo Infinite

Halo Infinite: How to Play Slayer

Halo Infinite’s multiplayer is now officially out and no longer in its ‘beta’ period, with the full game — including its campaign — releasing yesterday. If you’re looking to level up your Battle Pass, you’ll need to complete weekly challenges. Some of these task you with taking down enemies with a certain weapon, while others simply require you play certain game modes or win matches. In this guide, we’ll be talking you through how to play Slayer in Halo Infinite, so you can get that challenge ticked off.

What Is Slayer?

Slayer is essentially the standard Team Deathmatch mode in Halo. Two teams will battle it out to reach 50 kills first within the time limit. Whichever one does— or has the most kills when time runs out — wins.

Playing Slayer in Halo Infinite

To play Slayer, you’ll need to just keep playing Quick Play, Big Team Battle or Ranked Play matches.

That’s because Slayer is a game mode in all three of these playlists. The problem is, there’s no guarantee that you’ll actually get it.

This is a slight drawback with Halo Infinite’s multiplayer at the moment. A lack of playlist control means that you can end up playing game modes you really don’t like at the moment. There’s not even a player/ lobby voting period for the map and game mode, either.

As such, you’ll just need to keep playing any of the Halo Infinite online game modes and hope that you get a game of Slayer soon. From our experience, it does appear to be fairly common in Quick Play, though we could have just been lucky.

That’s everything you need to know on how to play Slayer in Halo Infinite. For more tips, tricks and guides, head over to our wiki or see more of our coverage on the game below.
