What Is Available in VR in GT Sport
PlayStation VR compatibility has been a big selling point of GT Sport since it was initially revealed. However, Polyphony Digital has not detailed exactly what is available in VR, but now that the game has released, we can see what VR content has been included.
The virtual reality part of GT Sport can be found in Arcade mode, the only mode that can be accessed without being connected to the game’s servers. The PSVR content is split into two forms, racing and showroom. The latter is simple and allows you to look closely at a car in your collection. You cannot get in the car but you are given a full 360 degree view of it.
The more substantial VR mode allows you to take part in head to head races on any of the tracks you have unlocked in any of the cars in your garage. You have to unlock more tracks by leveling up in the the base game and you can buy more cars using credits awarded for completing events. The time of day and weather options are also scaled back, with just two time settings being available in virtual reality. There is also no options for events that are one-on-one races. Unfortunately, you cannot play the main campaign mode or online modes in VR but what is on offer is a lot of fun.
That is what is available to be played in virtual reality in GT Sport. Check back with Twinfinite for more coverage.
