How to Be a Gaming YouTuber
While you might be focusing on a certain niche, that doesn’t mean you have to stick with one type of content. Viewers get bored if you upload the same type of video each week, so try to plan your schedule instead. You can try uploading “Let’s Play” videos on Tuesdays while Thursdays are reserved for your review clips. If you are into competitive gaming, like Overwatch or DOTA 2, try making coaching and analyzing videos.
If you feel comfortable showing off your face, you can try creating vlogs to mix things up. Expressive opinion pieces are also great ways to hook in viewers with similar thoughts and ideas, and you can layer your voice over gameplay clips if you feel more comfortable that way. Don’t be afraid to try out new ideas as you never know what might click with your audience.
One easy way for viewers to keep track of your videos is by creating playlists. You can set aside “Let’s Plays” in one list, while you have your review clips under a completely different playlist. New viewers who stumble across your channel will have an easier time looking for the content they like instead of having to sift through tons of other videos.
