What Vaulted Means in Fortnite Battle Royale
Fortnite, believe it or not, is still an early access game. Both its Save the World PvE mode, and its Battle Royale PvP modes still need some tweaks and improvements before Epic believes they’re ready to officially be released into the hands of players. As such, during this early access stage, Epic Games is taking its time adding new weapons in, seeing what features or game modes do and don’t work, and a heck of a lot more. It’s a test, basically, to try out different ideas so the final product is as fun as possible for players. One word that gets brought up fairly often at the moment is ‘vaulted.’ If you’ve been wondering exactly what that means, don’t worry, you’re not alone.
The term ‘vaulted’ means that a weapon (in most cases) has been removed from Fortnite altogether. You won’t be able to find it in a chest, or as floor loot or anything. It’s out of the game, and unless Epic Games opt to bring a vaulted weapon back, you won’t be seeing them again.
It’s worth noting that just because a Fortnite weapon is vaulted, it doesn’t mean it cannot make a return whatsoever. While the likes of the Crossbow is unlikely to ever come back, we have seen the Guided Missile Launcher return after being vaulted some months ago. It’s changed, and is significantly nerfed, sure. But for fans of the weapon, they’ll just be pleased to see it back in Fortnite.
As such, with the recent news that the Drum Gun has been vaulted in Fortnite, not all hope is lost just yet. Epic Games could potentially bring it back it feels it just needs a significant nerf. However, we’re not holding our breath about that for now.
That’s all you need to know regarding what vaulted means in relation to Fortnite. For more tips, tricks, and information on the current season of the game, be sure to check out our wiki.
