What 10,000 XP in Fortnite Means For Your Level

Recommended Videos

Season 5 of the uber-popular Fortnite Battle Royale, has just begun. It’s Week 1 of the season which means Battle Pass owners have their first slew of challenges to complete ahead of them. These challenges range from easy difficulty, to medium, and even to hard (side note: the hard ones aren’t that hard), but regardless of the difficulty, they’ll all help you on your quest for the next skin, emote, spray or dance.

For those who really enjoy the numbers side of leveling up in a game like Fortnite, Epic Games’ battle royale shooter might be a tad confusing. Simply put, it’s not very clear how XP and the leveling system in the game works. We know you need to stars to advance though the battle pass ranks and we know XP helps that grind. Other than that, we’re all in the dark. That’s nothing to worry about, though, as the game is just as fun regardless.

During this season, you’re likely to find yourself on the hunt for two skins (although there are certainly more): Drift and Ragnarok. To unlock the complete Drift set, you’ll need to obtain 200,000 XP and to unlock the complete Ragnarok set, you’ll need to get 500,000 XP.

Those are some pretty large numbers — if you’re not in a rush, you’re likely aiming for 10,000 XP in Fortnite.

To reach this point, you’ll need to get to at least level 13. To get to level 13, you need 9,800 XP, so to get to 10,000 XP, you won’t have to climb to level 14. You should hit 10,000 XP somewhere in between levels 13 and 14.

After you’ve hit that, you’re just one twentieth of the way to unlocking the complete Drift set and just one fiftieth of the way to unlocking the complete Ragnarok set (eek, that’s a little scary, but you’ve got this).
