How to Repair Vehicles in Far Cry 5

Getting around Hope County would take a seriously long time on-foot, so you’re better off finding vehicles whenever you can to take the strain off your feet. However, with Eden’s Gate trying to take over the place and control the roads, getting to your destination unscathed is highly unlikely. If they deal enough damage to your vehicle, it could either explode or stop handling or functioning correctly. When that happens, you’ll need to know how to repair vehicles.

To do so, you’ll need to get the Repair Torch as a perk. You can get this from the Survivalist tree for five perk points. Press the Options button to open up the menu, and then use R1 (RB on Xbox One) to flick through to the Perks menu. From here, select it, press X or A to confirm, and you’ll have it.

Now, when you come across a vehicle that needs repairing, Far Cry 5 should automatically prompt you to press Square (or X) to repair the vehicle. Doing so will then have your character pull out the Repair Torch. Now all you need to do is press and hold R2 (RT) while looking at the car and it’ll slowly but surely start to repair. Once the bar reaches the end, the vehicle will be fully repaired and you’re all set to go about on your adventure once more.

There’s also another perk which has all vehicles you drive automatically repair themselves. You’ll need six perk points for this one, and you can find it called Auto Repair in the Renegade tree.

That’s all you need to know to repair vehicles in Far Cry 5. For more on the game, be sure to check out our ever-expanding wiki.
