Elden Ring DLC Release Date Window, Theorized

Could Elden Ring's first DLC be closer than we think?

Elden Ring’s massive success has led to major questions concerning whether it will receive downloadable content. Even with a steady stream of updates to the game, nothing has officially been confirmed regarding what the game could get in terms of DLC. That said, fans may have finally gotten their first breadcrumb trail regarding DLC, and it seems DLC will finally arrive in Elden Ring. Here’s everything we know about Elden Ring DLC and its potential release window.

Elden Ring DLC Release Date Window

As of right now, it’s hard to properly pinpoint when the Elden Ring DLC could be ready. The company has yet to confirm anything about the DLC itself, and it seems like such a thing is very early in development. So why are theories suddenly flying about its arrival? Well, it seems the latest update has gotten the attention of some fans.

Dataminers have taken a look into the files of the game following update 1.07, and they’ve discovered the presence of two new map files, m20 and m45. The m20 file seems to share numbering with legacy dungeons, while m45 is entirely new. Eagle-eyed observers have also noticed that some files within the game specifically have “DLC” written in them.

Regardless of what these map files are, the mere presence of these new map files may be indicating that the first major DLC is on its way. With the files also making reference to the addition of ray-tracing, this all could be laying the groundwork for some major content to be added in the first DLC release. We can only hope its announcement (and release) comes sooner rather than later.

That’s all we know about Elden Ring DLC and its potential release window. If you’re looking for more Elden Ring news, why not check out Twinfinite’s piece on Steamforged Games’ Kickstarter for a new Elden Ring board game?
