Developed by Pixpil and published by Chucklefish, Eastward is a beautiful, retro-looking 2D pixel RPG that follows the story of John and Sam, a man and a young girl who live in an underground society. After getting banished to the supposedly deadly and poisonous surface world, they realize that there’s more to explore up there and they go on a journey together. Here’s how to get and use bombs in Eastward.
Getting and Using Bombs in Eastward
Bombs are one of the key tools that John has at his disposal, and they’re crucial for solving puzzles, and fighting certain enemies and bosses. You’ll unlock them very early on in the game, as one of your first story quests tasks you with heading into the dig site to get rid of slimes.
In the dig site, you’ll need to free John’s colleague who’s been locked in a side room by connecting the wires from the generator. Simply make sure that the wires connect both the generator and the panel that’s locking the room that the colleague is in, and it’ll open up. This will allow you to free the colleague and access the bombs.
While in control of John, hit the triangle or Y button to place it on the ground, then wait for it to detonate. Be sure to move away from it, as getting caught in the blast will cause you to lose a bit of health. You can also pick it up again with the X or A button.
Bombs can be replenished by finding them in dungeons; you’ll want to break any barrels you come across for a chance of getting extra bombs, and some enemies will drop them when you kill them as well.
That’s all you need to know about how to get and use bombs in Eastward. Be sure to search for Twinfinite for more tips and information on the game.
