How to Sign Up for EA Access and What You Get
Love them or hate them, EA has a large collection of quality games that are worth playing, especially when you get them in bulk. That is essentially what EA Access, the company’s subscription service, will grant members.
In order to sign up for the subscription service, users must own an Xbox One, as Sony decided not to have the app on its PlayStation 4. Once you boot up your Xbox One, navigate to the Store tab on the home screen and click the Search button. When you search for EA Access, you’ll find a result for the EA Access Hub app. Simply install and launch the app to arrive at the sign-up screen.
Begin the sign-in process, then scroll right until you reach the purchase screen. This is where you can select a monthly or yearly plan. Monthly plans cost $4.99 a month and yearly plans cost $29.99 in total. The last step just asks you to enter your payment information in order to complete the sign-up process.
What do you Get with EA Access?
Regardless of the payment plan you choose, the first perk you’ll receive when you sign up is a 10% discount on any new EA game that you purchase. This discount also works for other content, like DLC, Ultimate Teams, and season passes, meaning you’ll save a fair amount when it all adds up.
One of Access’ nicest features comes via EA’s Play First Trials. As the name dictates, EA Access members get the chance to download and play new EA games before anyone else. On average, you’ll get to play new releases from the company about five days before the game’s official release date.
While the First Trials playthrough time is capped, meaning you can’t beat the whole game before release, it is an efficient way to realize whether the title is worth purchasing before forking over your dough. If you end up liking it, all the data and progression you make in the trial will carry over when you buy the full game.
Last but not least is EA Access best perk: the Vault. Featuring over 40+ games, on average, the vault allows members to download and play any title currently available in its lineup for free. On top of that, each game will stay in your downloads after they leave the vault, as long as you’re still a member.
Current games that make up the Vault include FIFA 18, NHL 18, Battlefield 1, Titanfall 2, Mass Effect: Andromeda, Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst and many more! If those titles don’t interest you don’t worry, as new games replace old titles frequently.
Unfortunately, there’s still no word on whether EA Access will ever come to PS4. For now, the service is only exclusive to Xbox One and PC owners. If things ever change, though, we’ll be sure to keep you posted.
That’s how you sign up for EA Access, as well as what you get. For more information, be sure to check back with Twinfinite for other useful guides and other helpful information.
