How to Use Skills in the Dissidia Final Fantasy NT Beta

Recommended Videos

Dissidia Final Fantasy NT finally brings the intense battles of the series to the PlayStation 4, letting fans have their first crack at the game with the open beta currently going on right now. Things are a little different this time around, however, as gameplay has been switched up allowing for intense 3vs3 battles. One of the new additions comes with how skills work in the game.

At the start of each battle you can choose between two different loadouts for your character, at least there are just two in the beta. Under skills, you’ll notice different options, with things like Poison launching an area of effect spell at your enemies, or another skill releasing a healing aura for your team. Make sure to take a look at the effect of each loadout, and choose which one adapts to your style best.

When you’re in the heat of battle, skills are mapped to the triangle button. You’ll see three circles at the bottom of your screen, that have cooldown timers on them that gray the skill icon out. Once the cooldown has lifted the circle will flash meaning you can use that skill. Now what you need to do is just hit the triangle button, however, you’ll need to combine the left analog stick with it to use two of them. If you want to use the top skill just hit up and triangle, with the bottom just down and triangle. Your bravery and HP attacks are your primary means in battle but don’t forget to activate your skills when they’re ready, as they can help you turn the tide of a match.
