Destiny 2: The Witch Queen has been released and in addition to adding a brand new story, raid, weapon type, you know, the usual. What’s also returning, of course, is the annual new expansion big power grind. Pretty much the only time of the year where blues see any love and we’re scrambling to get up to at least the soft cap so we can start engaging with some more difficult content. In this guide, we’ll go over the best methods for raising your power level to the cap fast in Destiny 2: The Witch Queen & Season of the Risen as fast, fun, and stress-free.
Best Way to Raise Power to Cap Fast in Destiny 2: Witch Queen
Avoid All Weekly Activities at First Until Soft Cap
What you’ll need to resist at first is the temptation to do any activities that reward you with powerful or, god forbid, pinnacle engrams. You desperately want to save those, if you can, until you reach the Soft Cap. It’s easy enough to reach the Soft Cap without having to resort to wasting your powerful engram drops.
That said, if you’re running behind, the week is about to reset, and you’re still under the Soft Cap, by all means, make sure you get all the powerful rewards to speed things up. Whatever you don’t obtain before the reset is completely wasted.
This is key: always hang onto your highest power gear in each slot. Do not dismantle them even if it’s a blue. Your drops are always based on your combined highest possible power level in your inventory, regardless of what you have equipped. This applies all the way until you hit the Pinnacle Cap.
Also a quick tip: your seasonal rewards, such as the free armor sets, can be used to fill out some areas of your equipment that are behind the rest of your gear to bring up your Soft Cap score.
Once you reach the soft cap of 1500 you’re ready to graduate to other activities.
