How to Invade Players in Dark Souls Remastered

Recommended Videos

Invasions have always been a core element of the Soulsborne games, and Dark Souls Remastered is no different. Whenever you play online, and you have yet to defeat the boss in the area you’re currently in, you’ll run the risk of being invaded by another player. Here’s what you need to know to invade other players and getting invaded in return.

First off, invaders will always be around the same level as the host player in Dark Souls Remastered. This means that you don’t have to worry about the invader having inflated stats, though it’s possible that they will have more powerful and upgraded weapons. But as far as your soul level goes, you two should be on fairly even footing. In order to get invaded, you need to be in an area where the boss is still alive. For instance, if you haven’t killed the Bell Gargoyles in the Undead Burg, there’s a good chance that you could be invaded by other people as that’s a pretty popular PvP hot spot.

On the flip side, if you want to invade someone yourself in Dark Souls Remastered, you’ll need either a Red Eye Orb or a Cracked Red Eye Orb. Both function in exactly the same way, but the Cracked Red Eye Orbs can only be used once. Cracked Orbs can be found in a chest in Firelink Shrine, or bought from Kaathe for 3,000 souls each. The Red Eye Orb can be used as many times as you like, but you have to join the Darkwraith Covenant in order to obtain it from Kaathe. You can join the covenant after acquiring the Lordvessel, defeating the Four Kings, and giving it to Kaathe after the fight. If you placed the Lordvessel on the Firelink altar with Frampt, Kaathe becomes unavailable in your playthrough.

After joining the Darkwraith covenant, simply offer 10 Humanity items and you’ll get the Red Eye Orb that you can use to invade other players as a reward.

Using the Red Eye Orb will automatically search for worlds to invade, and you’ll spawn in another player’s world, where it becomes your job to hunt down the host.
