Cozy Grove: How to Fish

Developed by Spry Fox, Cozy Grove has been described as a chill island life game that has a pretty similar vibe to Nintendo’s Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Indeed, you’ll be participating in a lot of similar activities in this game as you acclimate to the island, but most of the things you’re doing here are primarily for survival. Here’s how to fish in Cozy Grove.

Fishing in Cozy Grove

Very early on in the game, you’ll encounter a sailor spirit just by the shore near your boat. He’ll task you with finding a fishing rod, which you can do by digging up the holes on the island with your shovel. Once you have it, it’s time to put it to good use and try to fish up some food for yourself.

Press the Y button to bring up your inventory, then use the d-pad to highlight the fishing rod and press A to hold it in your hand.

Run along the shoreline of the island and look out for the silhouette of a fish. Press the ZR button to get the rod ready, then use the left stick to adjust the direction you want to aim towards. You can also push up and down on the left stick to adjust how far you want the line to go. Once you’ve confirmed the direction and distance, press ZR again to cast it out.

Wait for the fish to bite, and once it does, press ZR again to reel it in. If you do it correctly, the fish will be added to your inventory and you’ll be able to use it as a ration during your time on the island.
