Here’s How to Get the Sheikah Heirloom

The Stolen Heirloom quest is an adventurous romp through story quests, side quests, emotions and more. Here’s how to get the Sheikah Heirloom in Breath of the Wild.

Before you attempt to get the Sheikah Heirloom, it’s important to note that the Stolen Heirloom quest is a quest made up of four other quests. Specifically, the Stolen Heirloom quest will actually see you complete a main quest, two side quests and a shrine quest.

That’s because to get the Sheikah Heirloom, you must gain access to the Lakna Rokee Shrine and this shrine requires certain quests to be completed first.

So, we’ll be taking you through those quests which in turn will be taking you through the Stolen Heirloom Breath of the Wild quest.

Fairy Fountain Side Quest

This quest can be started in Kakariko Village, which is almost dead center in the map. If you haven’t been there yet, head east from the Great Plateau toward the Dueling Peaks to reach this village.

Once you arrive, find Pikango, a painter working on a piece of art across the main pond of the village. Talk to him and he’ll tell you about the Great Fairy Fountain nearby.

He’ll eventually offer to take you there as the conversation progresses. Pikango will lead you up a nearby northern hill past the Tal’oh Naeg Shrine, but he’ll eventually slow down and all together stop.

You’ll have to continue forward without him. Do so until you reach a fork in the path and there, head left. Continue going straight and you’ll soon come upon the Great Fairy Fountain.

Walk up to it and interact with the fountain. You’ll have to hand over 100 rupees to actually see the Great Fairy — she can upgrade your armor for a cost — but that’s not necessary for this quest.

Simply take a picture of the Great Fairy Fountain with your Camera rune ability, head back down to the village and show Pikango the picture you just took.

This finishes up the Fairy Fountain Breath of the Wild side quest.

Flown The Coop Side Quest

Now that you’re back in Kakariko Village, head to Impa’s house and speak to one of the guards on the left side of the front of it. He’ll explain that many of his cuckoos haven’t come home and that he needs help finding them.

There are seven in total and you’ll have to individually pick each one up and return it to the coop. You can walk to the coop and place the cucco down or throw it into the coop.

The first one can be found next to Pikango and the main pond. The second one can be found on the roof of the clothing shop across from the coop.

The third cucco is in front of a shed by a fire up the main path hill. The fourth is one top of a small structure in the northeast part of the village, near a watermill.

The fifth cucco is in Mellie’s Plum Garden — sit by a fire to transition from day to night. This cucco can only be picked up at night as Mellie is guarding it otherwise.

The sixth cucco is in a small structure on the south side of town. The seventh and final cucco is near an apple tree south of the Tal’oh Naeg Shrine on the northern side of town.

After retrieving each cucco and returning it to the coop, talk to Cado once more to finish up this Breath of the Wild quest.

By Firefly’s Light Side Quest

By Firefly’s Light is a side quest and the third quest that must be completed to unlock the Lakna Rokee Shrine. To get this quest, visit Lasli in her house, which is in Kakariko Village (there’s a theme here), at night.

When you talk to her, she’ll tell you that she misses catching fireflies. As such, your task is to bring her firefly. Specifically, five fireflies.

If you already have five fireflies in your inventory, you can give her those. If not, head outside of her house and catch some flying nearby.

Once you have five, hold all of them in your hands and drop them inside of Lasli’s house. This will finish the quest.

Next up is the quest you’re here for.

The Stolen Heirloom Shrine Quest

Now that you’ve completed those quests, it’s time to find the stolen heirloom. Head to Impa’s house and speak to the guards outside. They’ll tell you that a thief stole a precious item from Paya within.

Finish up this conversation and talk to Paya. You’ll need to wait around with her until it is time for her to sleep. That’s because you need to put Paya to bed.

After you do that, head outside and find Pikango. He’s near a fire nearby.

Sit by this fire until it’s nighttime. Around 10:00 p.m., look toward Impa’s house and you should spot Dorian leaving his guard post.

Get some distance between him and yourself and follow him up the hill he’s on. It’s important that you don’t let Dorian notice you — if he does, you’ve failed the quest.

Dorian will continue up the hill past the Tal’oh Naeg Shrine and into the woods that take you to the Great Fairy Fountain. Instead of heading left at the fork as you did earlier, he’ll go right.

Dorian will eventually cross a bridge. Follow him across this and you’ll be ambushed by a Yiga fighter. This will be a tough fight, but give it your all and you should come out on top.

After you defeat this enemy, he’ll drop the Sheikah Heirloom. Speak with Dorian after this. He’ll explain that you need to drop the heirloom into the Lakna Rokee Shrine pedestal.

Head inside the Lakna Rokee Shrine nearby and complete it.

With this shrine complete, so too is your Stolen Heirloom Breath of the Wild quest.

That’s it for our guide on how to get the Sheikah Heirloom and complete the Stolen Heirloom quest line.
