How to Invite & Play With Friends in Black Ops 4’s Blackout Beta

Recommended Videos

Call of Duty is doing away with its single-player campaign this year with the release of Black Ops 4. Treyarch has instead opted for a trio of multiplayer modes, with the classic multiplayer and zombies modes being accompanied by Blackout. This is Call of Duty’s take on the battle royale genre, tasking players with being the last one standing as you go about finding weapons across an island and defeating anyone who gets in your way. While the Blackout beta does offer a solo mode for those who want to go all lone wolf on the beta’s ass, others will likely be wanting to invite and play with friends. So here’s exactly what you need to do.

First things first, it’s worth making sure that you’re in either the Duos or Quads game modes within the Blackout beta. From here, all you need to do is press Triangle on PS4 to open the Social menu, or Y for you Xbox One users.

After you’ve done this, you’ll see all players who are online and able for you to invite. Scroll down the list with the left analog stick to find the friends you want to invite and play with in Black Ops 4’s Blackout beta, and then press X or A on their name, and then again on the ‘Invite to Party’ option.

Now, all they need to do is go ahead and accept your invite as they would any other game. If you don’t have enough friends to make a full Quads mode, you can always turn off the Fill Squad option just below the game mode select option in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen, or you can have some random players join your team on their road to victory.

That’s all you need to know to invite and play with friends in Black Ops 4’s Blackout beta. For more on the Blackout beta over the next week, be sure to search for Twinfinite.
