BioShock: The Collection – How Long it Takes to Beat it

Between time and space.
This article is over 8 years old and may contain outdated information

BioShock is considered by many as one of the finest first person shooters to ever release in the modern era of video games. Originally debuting back in 2007, this underwater action/horror game masterfully weaves storytelling, combat, and exploration into one fine package. Followed up by two sequels, BioShock 2 and BioShock Infinite, this is a game that has certainly made a name for itself and now it’s available to everyone once more.

With BioShock: The Collection players are able to experience not only the original game but all of its DLC and sequels as well. However, there’s a lot of content to go through here and taking this journey could take some serious time. Each core Bioshock game, void of you actually spending an ample amount of time exploring, should take you between 8 to 10 hours given your skill level. However, if you are determined to see everything this could inflate your time per game by a few hours.

Also, the new developer commentary videos scattered throughout the original BioShock are quite long, with the first one lasting upwards of 20 minutes. Since these “Golden Reels” offer interesting insight into the development of this game series they shouldn’t be overlooked by any fan. Then there’s all of the DLC that has been added into the game with the two core expansions Minerva’s Den and Burial at Sea: Part 2 each clocking in at around five to six hours.

Make no mistake, there is a lot of content BioShock: The Collection and it can easily claim 50 to 60 hours of your life if you want to see, hear, and do everything offered. This is one trip under the sea that’s clearly worth every penny.
