Asymmetrical Lance – Best Weapons in Dead Cells

Not only is this a badass looking weapon, it’s also one of the best Survival weapons you can get in Dead Cells. The Asymmetrical Lance is a slow weapon, but it’s way more manageable than the detestable Broadsword. By swinging it around, you can attack enemies both in front of and behind you, which makes it great for crowd control. It’s also a great speedrunning weapon because of its inherent perk: killing two enemies rapidly will give you crit attacks.

The only downside to the Asymmetrical Lance is that it’s just a little bit too slow for handling birds and flying enemies in Dead Cells. If you’re rocking the Lance, make sure to have a bow or another fast ranged weapon in your second slot. Other than that one shortcoming, the Asymmetrical Lance is certainly one of the best weapons in Dead Cells.

Frantic Sword – Best Weapons in Dead Cells

There aren’t a ton of great melee weapons for Tactics builds, so if you come across a Frantic Sword, make sure to grab it. It’s your typical fast-moving sword weapon, and the move set is pretty basic. However, its perk allows you to deal out critical attacks whenever you’re below 50 percent HP.

Hayabusa Gauntlets – Best Weapons in Dead Cells

Brutality players in Dead Cells have the luxury of choosing from so many different awesome weapons, but the Hayabusa Gauntlets has got to be one of the best. It doesn’t deal as much damage as some of the other fast swords, but it has a great move set, and its perk allows you to deal critical damage on the fifth hit. If you can get the 1 percent HP restored per hit attribute on this weapon, you’ll be set for your higher difficulty runs. We also really like the Hayabusa Boots and Spiked Boots, but the Gauntlets are just so darn cool.

Wrenching Whip – Best Weapons in Dead Cells

I’m not a huge fan of the whip-type weapons in Dead Cells, but if I absolutely had to use one of them, it’d be the Wrenching Whip. This is yet another Brutality weapon with a fast and fun move set that allows you to pull enemies towards you. It’s great for crowd control and dealing with shield-bearers.

Shovel – Best Weapons in Dead Cells

For all you Survival players out there, if you can’t beat the Hand of the King for the Asymmetrical Lance, consider taking a trip to the Graveyard to get the blueprint for the Shovel. It looks pretty simple, but this is easily the fastest Survival weapon you can get in the game. It also happens to be one of the very best weapons in Dead Cells because of its ability to reflect certain attacks. With the Shovel, you’re getting a fast move set, along with the ability to deflect bombs and grenades and use them to damage your foes.

Hokuto’s Bow – Best Weapons in Dead Cells

At first glance, Hokuto’s Bow doesn’t seem all that impressive, but once you learn how to use its perk properly, you’ll be unstoppable. Hokuto’s Bow marks any enemy that you hit, and they’ll take increased damage for a few seconds. If you kill that enemy quickly, the mark spreads to nearby enemies, in turn causing them to take increased damage as well. If you manage to roll the attribute that lets your shots pierce enemies, you’re all set.

Ice Bow – Best Weapons in Dead Cells

The Ice Bow is one of the easiest weapons to get in Dead Cells, and it’s also one of the very best, top-tier weapons in the game. As the name suggests, anyone hit with the Ice Bow will get frozen, and we all know how ridiculously broken the freeze effect is in Dead Cells. The Ice Bow is very fast, and if you can pierce enemies, this bow will probably carry you to the end of the game.

Marksman’s Bow – Best Weapons in Dead Cells

The Marksman’s Bow requires a bit of finesse to use properly, but it can be very powerful if you’re a patient player. If you’re far away from an enemy, shots fired with this bow will deal critical damage. Personally, I’ve found that it can be very handy if you’re lucky enough to get a stealth amulet, as it lets you eliminate enemies very safely, though somewhat slowly.

Frost Blast – Best Weapons in Dead Cells

Frost Blast is one of the very first weapons you can get at the start of the game, and it’s pretty handy, regardless of which difficulty you’re playing on. It has less range than you might expect, but it’s relatively quick, and is great for dealing with birds.

Grenades

Ice Grenade – Best Weapons in Dead Cells

Ah, the trusty Ice Grenade. If you’re going for a Brutality build, I highly recommend getting the grenade cooldown perk. As you level Brutality even further, the grenade cooldown timer gets so short that you’re practically able to throw out a grenade every three or four seconds. The Ice Grenade is one of the best grenades you can get, especially if you don’t have another weapon that freezes. It’s also a very versatile weapon, and it synergizes nicely with the Fire or Cluster Grenades. Oh, and the Ice Grenade also comes with damage reduction, which is always nice.

Cluster Grenade – Best Weapons in Dead Cells

Without a doubt, the Cluster Grenade is one of the most broken and best weapons in Dead Cells, especially if you have good synergy with the rest of your build, and you have the grenade cooldown mutation. Once you toss it out, the grenade breaks into multiple clusters, which explode and deal tons of damage to nearby foes. Now imagine if all those clusters hit a single enemy. Instant decimation.

Stun Grenade – Best Weapons in Dead Cells

If you don’t have an Ice Grenade, the Stun Grenade is a pretty nice substitution as well. It also gives you damage reduction, and as the name suggests, it stuns foes near you for a few seconds. Having both Stun and Ice Grenades can also work pretty nicely together, if your main weapons have attributes that work well with those effects, or if you’re using slower melee weapons.

Traps and Miscellaneous Abilities

Death Orb – Best Weapons in Dead Cells

Death Orb is easily one of the best Tactics abilities you can get in Dead Cells. It launches a slow-moving projectile that deals damage to any enemies in contact with it, and it can be very helpful with crowd control and allowing players to get a bit of cover when dealing with groups.

Wings of the Crow – Best Weapons in Dead Cells

Yet another great crowd control ability, Wings of the Crow lets you hover in the air while zapping all enemies below you. It’s not very practical for boss fights, but it gives you invulnerability against regular melee enemies.

Turrets – Best Weapons in Dead Cells

And if you want to really cheese it up with an overpowered Tactics build, you can’t go wrong with turrets. I’ve done it, you’ve probably done it, every Dead Cells player knows the true power of turrets. Regardless of which turret you choose, if your Tactics stat is leveled up enough, you can throw them down quickly, and just let them do all the heavy lifting for you without having to lift a finger. Of course, try to get some synergy between your turrets for extra damage. The good thing about turrets is that they’re extremely effective in boss fights as well, which can be helpful for players who want to focus on learning a boss’s patterns without worrying about attacking.
