Attack on Titan: How to Change Blades

Change Blades – Attack on Titan

Recommended Videos

Part of Attack on Titan is managing your equipment. As you move throughout missions and battle Titans, you’ll run out of gas and your blades will begin to dull. Once they dull too much, you can still use them but your damage will be drastically reduced and you won’t be able to perform combos. Thankfully, it is possible to switch out your useless blades for fresh ones when out in the field.

You can scroll through your inventory by pressing left and right on the d-pad to move between your different available items. Highlight your blades (located to the right of the gas canister icon), then press up on the d-pad. This will cause your character to stop and swap out their blades if you have any. If you don’t have any extras, locate a Logistician who will replenish your items or search for one on the ground.

Do note that you will be open to attack when swapping out blades in Attack on Titan. Your character will stand still for a few seconds which can spell disaster if you’re surrounded. Look for a safe place first, then go ahead. If you’re using a character that has the Aerial Replacement skill, such as Level 3 Levi, you can actually swap them mid combat as you’re in the sky. Better yet, the thrown blades do a decent amount of damage.
