Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Siege of Paris Ending Choice: Should You Spare or Kill Charles? Answered

Ubisoft’s latest expansion for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla takes Eivor to Francian shores in a bid to pacify a bloodthirsty king hellbent on driving Norse from his lands. But as usual, there’s more to Francia’s king than meets the eye, and so when faces with the choice, taking his life might not be the best solution. Here’s what you need to know about Assassin’s Creed Valhalla The Siege of Paris’s ending choice and whether you should spare or kill Charles.

Should You Spare or Kill Charles in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Siege of Paris DLC? Answered

siege of paris ending guide, Spare or Kill Charles?

If you’re asking this question then we’re going to assume you have already encountered the decision leading up to the final moments of The Siege of Paris. After Charles has broken his word multiple times throughout the story and proven himself generally deceitful and unkind even to his closest allies (including his wife), Eivor, who has been incredibly forgiving up until this point, finally considers killing him off. The decision is yours, but what does each mean?

Well, the ending will change slightly depending on which you choose, though honestly, it’s not all that consequential. The choice is more of a moral one; do you agree with Richardis that all people deserve forgiveness and ultimately are good deep inside? Or do you think Charles has had enough chances, and the prospect of him potentially invading England and attacking Ravensthorpe is too risky to leave him alive?

Regardless of which you choose, you will end up in a boss fight with Charles. However, if you have chosen not to kill him then you will end the fight by trapping him in a case, and Richardis will end up intervening to stop the fight and protect Charles. On the other hand, choosing to kill him means that you will repeatedly be tasked with throwing him towards a fire pit and eventually killing him.

Saving Charles makes Richardis happy, and she has been a close ally and friend throughout the story. Meanwhile, Odo will be very displeased.

Killing Charles pleases Count Odo, who pledges never to attack England and becomes an ally of Ravensthorpe. Richardis, however, will understandably be devastated and furious with you.

Which Siege of Paris Ending is Better? Answered

If we had to choose an ending, we would go with the option to kill Charles. While, yes, clearly Charles seems to have some sort of mental issues that perhaps can be resolved with love and care, it seems too risky to keep him alive when he has spoken of his intentions to one day invade England. As the leader of the Raven clan, Eivor must surely protect his people, and forging an alliance with Odo secures that future.

Whatever you decide to do has no bearing on your experience exploring Paris after the story continues.

That’s everything you need to know about whether you should spare or kill Charles during Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Siege of Paris’s ending. For more useful tips and guides on the game, be sure to check out Twinfinite’s guide wiki.
