One of the many minor, but incredibly handy new features in Animal Crossing: New Horizons is the ability to store items and furniture you don’t currently have a need for in your house’s storage. It’ll enable you to keep your home nice and tidy, rather than relegating one room to be a storage room filled with random furniture and items taking up almost all floor space. Here’s how to store items in house storage in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
Storing Items in Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Once you’ve finally got your first house, as opposed to the tent that you start off with in New Horizons, you’ll finally have the option to store items you’re not currently using.
To store items, you’ll first need to pick up the item or furniture and ensure it’s in your pocket. Then, press X to open your inventory (pocket) and select the item by pressing A.
This will now give you two options. To place the item, or to put it in storage. Simply select the ‘Put in Storage’ option and the item will be stashed away.
Getting Items Out of Storage
If you’ve decided that the Modern Table you put in storage could actually go quite nicely in your house now, you can always get items back out of storage by pressing right on the d-pad.
You’ll then see all of your items in storage in what looks like your inventory. Simply select the one you want to take back out and choose the option to move it back into your inventory.
