4 Things to Do After Beating Death Stranding

This article is over 5 years old and may contain outdated information

So you’ve beaten the main story of Death Stranding and still have no idea what it’s all about. No worries, though, as you can jump straight back into the game and continue making deliveries. Here are four things you can do after beating the game.

Visit Peter Englert

Near the end of Death Stranding, you’re given a small hint about a particular NPC and the opportunity to find out even more about Higgs. If you take a look at your mail, you’ll see that you’ve gotten a new message from Peter Englert, the NPC who lives just west of Lake Knot City and the one who asked for a pizza delivery.

As it turns out, Peter Englert was actually Higgs this entire time, and that email alone reveals it. The message lets you know that there’s new information to be found at Englert’s house, and it gives you a Memory Chip that will provide some insight into Higgs’ mindset and flesh out his backstory.

We won’t spoil what information you actually learn about Higgs, but if you didn’t already look into this, you’ll want to check that out as soon as the credits roll.

In addition to that, there are actually quite a few Memory Chips scattered all over the open world in Death Stranding. They’re pretty hard to find, but it could be fun to go on a scavenger hunt for these as well.

Finish Up the Remaining Standard Orders

Even after you’ve beaten the main story in Death Stranding, there’s still plenty of packages to deliver in the United Cities of America. It’s worth noting that just playing the story alone won’t allow you to unlock every single region on the continent. There are still small pockets of land that there aren’t part of the chiral network.

Some of the standard orders in the cities will take you to these untouched areas, allowing you to unlock even more of the map in the open world. It’s definitely worth doing if you’re a completionist and want to see everything that Death Stranding has to offer.

Try the Premium Deliveries

For the most part, Death Stranding isn’t a particularly difficult game overall, and most of the deliveries are pretty easy to get done even if they can be time-consuming.

If, however, you want an actual challenge in the game, you might consider doing the premium deliveries instead. By accepting an order from a delivery terminal, you can press right on the d-pad to change it to Premium mode, which imposes much stricter conditions on the delivery.

There’s less room for error in terms of cargo damage and delivery speed, and you can even make the restrictions even more punishing if you want to. This will reward you with even more Likes, and give you more rewards for actually accomplishing it.

Contribute Resources to Existing Structures

Finally, if you feel like you’ve exhausted all your options in Death Stranding, you could just take your time to help out your fellow Porters.

While playing online, you’ll be able to see all the different structures and items left behind by other players. It could be worth taking the time to go grind out resources and use them to rebuild and maintain online structures.

Specifically, Auto-Pavers are definitely worth maintaining as these can help to build roads and highways to help connect all the cities across the UCA. Roads are invaluable towards making efficient deliveries, and would definitely help to make everyone’s lives easier.
