Meet the Japanese Voice Actors for Xenoblade Chronicles 2

Hiro Shimono is a popular name among voice actors. Anime fans are likely to recognize him as Keima Katsuragi from The World God Only Knows, though he’s done voices for plenty of other things such as Tokyo Ghoul, Tenchi Muyo, Danganronpa, and even Final Fantasy XIII. In Xenoblade Chronicles 2 he’ll he handling the protagonist Rex.

Shino Shimoji is a relatively new to the world of voice actors with currently with less than ten credits to her name. In the world of anime she has had a role in the Girls Und Panzer der Film (Aki) and in Samurai Warriors (Suzu), but Pyra will be her first foray into the world of video game voice acting.

Born in the Kanegawa Prefecture of Japan, Hitomi Owada has had roles in New Game! (Tsubame Narui), Castle Town Dandelion (Hitomi Ichiko), and Deception IV: Blood Ties (Reina). She shall be lending her voice to Nia in Xenoblade Chronicles 2.

Tetsu Inada is a bonafide star among Japanese voice actors. He’s been featured in movies like Appleseed (Leyton) and Bleach: Fade to Black (Sajin Komamura). Although most may know him as the Japanese voice for Dragon Ball Z’s own Nappa. In Xenoblade he shall be a talking creature known as Dromarch.

Another seasoned voice actress, Ai Nonaka was born in Fukuoka Japan and has lent her role to a number of anime and games. Including popular roles in Dead or Alive 5 (Honoka) and Madoka Magica (Kyoko Sakura). She’ll be one of the main playable characters in Xenoblade as Tora.

Misaki Kuno is a regular in the anime industry, having voiced characters in Log Horizon (Serara) and even in the Japanese Dub for Finding Nemo (Darla). Though she’s still pretty early into her video game voice acting career and her role as the peppy Poppi in Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is her latest role.

Kenjiro Tsuda has a lengthy history of voicing characters in anime and games as well as dubbing Japanese releases of movies. Most notably, he is the Japanese Dub voice of Kylo Ren in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed; and in Xenoblade he’ll be one of Rex’s allies Zeke.

No story is complete without a cute companion and among voice actors Aoi Yuuki is one of the best for just that. Her roles include Maya in the Ace Attorney anime and Futaba Sakuba from Persona 5. Though anime fans may recognize her from Madoka Magica as none other than Madoka herself. This time around, she’ll be playing the animal companion Finch.

Masaharu Maeda, also known by his stage name Shigeru Chiba, is an acting legend. He’s been a music director, an actor, a stage performer, and of course a voice actor in dozens if not hundreds of different properties. A few notables franchises include Dragonball (Pilaf), One Piece (Buggy), and Street Fighter V (F.A.N.G.). This time around he will be voicing the Titan Azurda, one of Rex’s biggest allies.

Born in Saitama, Japan, Mitsuki Saiga is a voice talent known for her roles in anime, games, and in her own band called Mitsuki Saiga feat. JUST. Though fans in the West will likely know her better Maria Ross (Full Metal Alchemist) and Tsukasa (.Hack SIGN). This time around she’ll be taking a stab at one of the villains of Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Morag.

Popular among voice actors, Ryo Hirohashi is a women who begun voice acting as early as high school. She has brought an energy to a number of popular characters over the years, such as Minoru Mineta (My Hero Academia) and Luna (Sailor Moon Crystal) or in the world of games fans might better know her as the Japanese voice of Miles “Tails” Prower. In Xenoblade she will be Zeke’s Special Blade Pandoria.

From Tokyo itself comes voice actress and singer Shizuka Ito. Shizuka has a number of acclaims under her belt, having won Best Supporting Actress in the 10th Seiyu Awards for her role as Sailor Venus (Sailor Moon Crystal). She is Flare Carona from Fairy Tail; though this time around she is playing Brighid, the most powerful Blade and partner of Morag.

Another seasoned voice actor, Yuichi Nakamura has played a part in a number of iconic characters over the years. Most notably, he plays Greed in Full Metal Alchemist and One Punch Man’s own Mumen Rider. Fun Fact: he is also the dub voice of Steve Rogers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In Xenoblade Chronicles 2 he will be one of the antagonists in the empire, Malos.

Lastly, there’s Takahiro Sakura. Over the years Takahiro has voiced over a hundred games and animes with more major roles than you might expect. Including spots in Code Geass (Suzaku), D. Gray Man (Kanda), Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure (Rohan), and Final Fantasy VII as none other than Cloud Strife. Rather than a hero though, in Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Takahiro will be playing one of the main villains in Jin.
