Microsoft’s Xbox One X console is going down very well in the UK. As reported by Gamesindustrybiz, UK retailers have now revealed first week numbers across the region, which tallies to 80,000 units sold.
Just how well the souped-up Xbox One X would sell minus any notable exclusive content had been the subject of much debate, but it seems that in the UK, at least, demand is very high. By comparison, it took the PS4 Pro four weeks to reach the same number, though there were stock issues affecting the PS4 Pro during this time.
The first week numbers for the Xbox One X match Nintendo Switch’s effort back in March (note that hardware figures are up-weighted 20%. Xbox One X raw data is at 67,000), though, again, it must be noted that stock issues also impacted the Switch’s first-week performance.
Retailers note that the most popular version of the console was the special edition Project Scorpio variant. The best-selling Xbox One game of the week was Call of Duty: WWII, followed by Assassin’s Creed Origins (which was promoted with the system), FIFA 18 and the Forza duo: Forza Motorsport 7 and Forza Horizon 3.
