Devil May Cry 5

Most Beautiful Games of March 2019

It feels almost unfair to include any game that’s made with Capcom’s proprietary RE Engine, but here we are.

The Devil May Cry games have always been beautiful, thanks largely to how cool and stylish the action just looks onscreen. But with Devil May Cry 5, the series has been elevated to a whole other level.

DMC5’s environments are completely and utterly stunning, and all the character renders are these perfectly sculpted and beautifully shimmering supermodels that would give Lightning the Louis Vuitton prodigy a run for her money.

In all seriousness, though, the RE Engine adds a layer of realism to the game, bringing the different levels to life with the insane attention to detail provided here. Devil May Cry 5 can get gross and gruesome at times, but even then it’s hard to tear your eyes away because of how attractively shiny everything is.

 The Division 2

Not only is it an excellent looter shooter game, The Division 2‘s also pretty easy on the eyes.

Set in Washington DC, The Division 2 features tons of claustrophobic streets and skyscrapers, but it also provides variety in the landscape with wider, open fields that you can traverse. The game’s dynamic day-night cycle definitely works in its favor, as players are given a different look at the lovely city during specific times of the day.

While the game does fall short when it comes to the details such as character models and little textures on the ground and the walls, there’s no denying that The Division 2 definitely delivers in spades with regards to beautiful vistas and landscapes you can look over.

It might not be the prettiest game around, but it certainly delivers a sense of realism and makes the player truly feel like they’re exploring DC.

 Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice

FromSoft’s PS4 games look incredible, so it’s no surprise that Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is utterly jaw-dropping as well.

Set in feudal Japan, Sekiro’s landscapes are mostly snowy as you explore the large territory of Ashina within a single mountain range. That’s not to say there isn’t any environmental variety though, as you’ll get to visit lush forests, stony fortresses, and of course, disgusting green poisonous swamps.

Sekiro’s beauty largely lies in the way the world is designed and how it’s laid out. Every seemingly separate area fits together like a snug piece of a puzzle, and it’s absolutely breathtaking when you catch a glimpse of a far off area that you won’t get to actually visit for several hours.

The bosses and enemies themselves are plenty gruesome as well, and as always, FromSoft shines when it comes to inserting little details and other minor additions in their immersive game worlds.

Yoshi’s Crafted World

It’s not exactly the most photorealistic game around, but since when have Nintendo games bothered too much about realism anyways?

Yoshi’s Crafted World is an extremely charming and beautiful game that takes place in this lovely, handcrafted papier-mache universe that you just can’t look away from.

The lighting effects are quite stunning too, as there are levels where the sunlight seems to hit the paper just right, lending the game a rather ethereal look that makes it appear even more beautiful.
