Even though Secret of Mana originally released in 1993, its fans are still willing to produce high-quality, beautifully animated tributes to the classic JRPG. Have you ever wondered what a cinematic cutscene before the final battle would look like? Well, you can stop wondering.
Uploaded on April 24, animator Benoit Tranchet released one such tribute to YouTube to show appreciation for the Secret of Mana, which took just shy of a year and a half to produce.
Check out the result of all of the hard work yourself:
Though Secret of Mana has been re-released throughout the years on a handful of different platforms, it’s amazing to see what fans can do with a seed that was planted 27 years ago. The cinematic, depicting the moments before the final battle with the Mana Beast, should definitely get you in the mood for some classic RPG action.
Fans really have been doing amazing work recently. If you like this kind of fan tribute, you should also check out this fan trailer for a Paper Zelda game, or a fan video showing Animal Crossing characters covering songs from Doom.
