Cris Tales, a love letter to colorful RPGs of yesteryear, with a modern feel, has finally released on PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, and PC. The game’s art style really pops and the game is regularly a feast for the eyes. However, the game can be quite tough at times, too. You’ll want to make sure you save often so you can scout out difficult battles, or just see how different choices play out. In this guide, we’ll go over how to save in Cris Tales, and also inform you about the status of autosave.
How to Save in Cris Tales
Cris Tales relies heavily on manual save points. There are two places where you can save in Cris Tales. Any time you’re in the overworld you can press the “start” button (Menu/Options etc.) to open up the menu and select Save from the list there. You can save as often as you like while in the overworld of Cris Tales. Towns do not count, so if you want to save while in a town, well, you can’t, you’ll need to go back outside.
The only other place you can save is at soil patches after you’ve defeated the Volcano Sisters. Soil patches are brown circular dirt-looking patches in the ground that are scattered around the game’s areas. They often appear before boss battles and are also places where you can use Tents, items that let you fully restore your party’s HP and MP. Simply go up to it, interact with it, and you’ll have the option to record your progress if you wish.
Does Cris Tales Have Autosave?
Sadly Cris Tales does not have an autosave feature. This can be quite punishing at times, especially considering even random battles can be dangerous until you get the parry system down. Make sure that you save as often as you can using the methods above otherwise, you’re in danger of losing significant progress.
That’s all you need to know about saving in Cris Tales. Check out our recent coverage of this colorful RPG from Modus right here.
