Kingdoms of Amalur Re-Reckoning attempts to improve upon the original in many ways, not least of which being that it offers reworked difficulty settings for a more catered experience. These tweaks won’t do you much good if you don’t know how to use them though, which is why we’re here to walk you through how to change the difficulty in Kingdoms of Amalur Re-Reckoning.
How to Change the Difficulty in Kingdoms of Amalur Re-Reckoning
Like most other modern games, Kingdoms of Amalur Re-Reckoning allows you to change the game’s difficulty at most any time.
To do so, all you need to do is open the pause menu with the Options Button on PlayStation 4 or the Menu Button on Xbox One. Then, scroll down to the Options tab and select it. This will allow you to change a variety of the game’s settings, and the difficulty will be the first you can select.
From there, all you need to do is increase the difficulty accordingly. scrolling to the left will decrease how hard the game is, while scrolling to the right will ramp up how much resistance you’ll face as you make your way through the game.
Are There any Penalties for Changing the Difficulty?
With all this said though, there is one element to consider when changing the difficulty in Kingdoms of Amalur Re-Reckoning.
Should you lower the difficulty from Hard or Very Hard to Medium or Easy, you’ll no longer be able to obtain the Trophy and Achievement tied to beating the game on Hard mode. The only way to undo this will be to start a new game, potentially undoing any progress you’ve made toward unlocking the accolade.
Hopefully this cleared up how to change the difficulty in Kingdoms of Amalur Re-Reckoning. For more on the game, check out some of our other guides on topics like how to increase your inventory size and how to sneak and stealth attack enemies.
