Gears Tactics sees the Gears of War series cross with the turn-based tactics genre, and it’s an excellent fit. While the bulk of the game takes place in maps, there is the occasional cutcsene and bit of dialogue to help flesh out the game’s story. It’s not massively enthralling, though there are some little tidbits in here for long-term fans. If you’re not all that bothered, though, here’s how to skip cutscenes in Gears Tactics.
Skipping Cutscenes & Dialogue in Gears Tactics
The good news is that almost every single cutscene you come across in Gears Tactics can be skipped. All you need to do is double tap the Escape key (Esc) in the top left-hand corner of your keyboard and you’ll skip through the cinematic and get straight back into the action.
This includes the little intro cutscene at the beginning of most missions which sees your characters deployed from the vehicle.
It’s worth noting, however, that you won’t be able to skip through the cutscenes that introduce new unit types, or when an enemy unit uses an ability, such as Sniper Drones using the ‘Pinned’ ability. The short cutscene that zooms in on their face just before using the ability has to be watched every time, as annoying as it is.
Similarly, there is one cutscene right towards the end of the game that you cannot skip. In fact, it’s the cutscene that plays right before the final mission. We won’t say any more for the sake of avoiding spoilers, but at least you know it can’t be skipped. We wouldn’t advise it anyway, it’s a pretty great cutscene.
