Today Square Enix revealed a set of new figures portraying the characters of the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Remake.
The figures come from the Trading Art series, which should give you a hint on their nature.
They’re smaller reproductions of our heroes designed to be sold in gacha-like enclosed boxes containing a random character. Yes, they’re basically real-life loot boxes. They’re very popular in Japan.
If you don’t want to rely on luck, AmiAmi has the whole set up for pre-oder for 3,870 yen, which roughly translates into $36.
The release window is April 2020.
If the reliance on luck actually excites you, they’ll be available in Japanese store for 880 yen a box in May 2020.
The characters portrayed are Cloud, Tifa, Aerith, Sephiroth, and Barret, and for trading figures they actually look pretty good.
If you’re wondering about their size, Aerith is the shortest at 90 mm, while Sephiroth is obviously the tallest, standing at 106 mm.
You can check them out below.
If you’d rather have figures of higher quality, Square Enix will also launch a line of static scale figures and one of Play Arts Kai action figures.
The first game of the Final Fantasy VII Remake will launch on PS4 on March 3, 2020. No other platforms have been announced so far.
