Today, during Twitch’s live coverage from E3 2019, No More Heroes III Director Goichi “Suda51” Suda gave a few more hints about what you can expect from the game.
Suda-san mentioned that there are going to be some really awesome boss fights, but it’s going to be different from previous games of the series. Travis isn’t going to fight killers, and he will go up against some “Thanos-level dudes.” Yet, unlike the Avengers, Travis is alone, so it’s going to be “hardcore.”
Interestingly, he explained that Travis is inspired in part by himself when he was younger, but aesthetically a big inspiration of Johnny Knoxville from Jakass. He also likes to think of him as a modern-day Jedi.
We also hear that while motion controls are optional, they are the “most pure way to play the game.” Suda-san himself made sure to illustrate such a way, and if you’re a fan of the series, I’m sure you can imagine the gesture.
If you want to see more, you can enjoy the latest trailer of the game. If you prefer a more family-friendly version, you can check out the one that has been showcased during the Nintendo Direct at E3 2019, which has been softened up to fit a wider audience.
No More Heroes III is coming exclusively for Nintendo Switch in 2010.
