Today Compile Heart released a new trailer and announced a Japanese release date for the upcoming Nintendo Switch release of Kamigokutou Mary Skelter 2.
The game will hit the Japanese shelves on August 22, bringing the series to a completely new platform.
We also get a trailer showcasing the opening cutscene, which basically scrolls through the many waifus that we’ll meet in the game.
If you’re unfamiliar with the title, here’s a description from Idea Factory International, which is bringing it to North America and Europe. Incidentally, it’ll also include its predecessor Mary Skelter Nightmares within the package.
“Mary Skelter 2 evolves the core elements in Mary Skelter: Nightmares to bring to you a world teeming with twists and turns, topped with a new battle feature where the previous protagonist, Jack, is now a Nightmare.
Players can use his Nightmare powers to defeat enemies, but at a maddening cost. Set in an alternate reality that includes familiar characters from the first installment, players must relive the torturous dungeon experiences and find ways to feed an almost insatiable prison.
Will you be able to escape this prison and find sanctuary or will you fall into the clutches of madness?”
You can check out the trailer below. The western release of the game doesn’t yet have a release date.
It’s worth mentioning that Idea Factory International is launching the game in the west only for the Switch, skipping the original PS4 version that will remain exclusive to Japan.
