How to Get a Toolbox in Mordhau and What it Does
Knowing how to use each tool and class in Mordhau is the key to achieving victory, and that’s why we’re here to walk you through how to use a Toolbox and what it does.
A special piece of equipment that allows you to craft wooden walls, wooden spikes or a mounted crossbow, the Toolbox is a must-have for those who prefer to lay traps for other players and execute multiple methods of fighting at once.
However, it’s not a piece of equipment that can be obtained from the battlefield. Instead, there are two different methods you can choose to use before a battle begins to obtain a Toolbox.
How to Get a Toolbox
The first is to choose to play as an Engineer. This class of combatant comes pre-equipped with a Toolbox and can use it freely from the get-go.
The other method is to purchase a Toolbox from the pre-game menu with 500 gold. This allows you to equip it to any character before heading into battle, and can greatly increase the amount of strategies you can implement.
How to Use a Toolbox
Once you’ve used either of these two methods, you can use a Toolbox in a match just as you would a weapon.
To do this, cycle through to the object you’d like to construct by pressing R. Once the object is selected, click the left mouse button to begin constructing it.
However, it’s worth noting that you’ll need to have a certain amount of resources to craft any structure. For example, while making a wooden wall only costs three resources, crafting a mounted crossbow costs six resources.
Fortunately, players are given three resources at the start of the round and more can be obtained from ammo boxes at anytime. To that end, do your best to to obtain resources whenever you need to based on what you wish to build.
