Murder Detective Jack the Ripper for PS4 and Switch Gets Super-Dark Trailer

Today Nippon Ichi Software released a brand new trailer of its upcoming adventure game Murder Detective Jack the Ripper.

The video focuses on the two routes the player can take, either resisting to the spirit of Jack the Ripper allegedly residing within the protagonist and sticking to the Detective Route, or giving in to his violent instincts with the Murderer Route.

The game definitely appears to have a really dark atmosphere, giving a completely different spin to something that appears to be similar to the Ace Attorney series. I’m certainly loving what I’m seeing.

We also get to see a glimpse of a series of comedy skits titled “Bonus Theater”, which features cutesy versions of the game’s characters for a bit of (likely much-needed) comedic relief.

You can check out the trailer below. If you want to see more, you can enjoy the latest and extensive gallery of screenshots showcasing the first case, and the first trailer and images released a few weeks ago.

Murder Detective Jack the Ripper will be released in Japan for PS4 and Nintendo Switch on April 25. A western release has not been announced yet. Hopefully NIS America won’t make us wait too long for this one.
