Square Enix has released a new trailer for The Last Remnant Remastered, showing off combat and a look at the game’s various villains. You can take a look at the full trailer down below.
The remastered release of the game upgrades the engine to Unreal Engine 4, and adds a high-speed movement option when on the field, among other changes.
The most interesting aspect of The Last Remnant was, by far, its combat system. Instead of having multiple party members you’d actually have multiple combat units called Unions that make up your army. These units can comprise of one to five characters, some of which are story-based while others can be hired. This results in larger scale battles than your typical JRPG, with tens of units in any given battle.
A morale bar also affects battle, and can help or hinder your characters depending on which side has the higher morale. You can also change the equipment of each individual character in all of your Unions, which will then in turn affect the Unions overall power.
The Last Remnant Remastered launches on Dec. 6 exclusively for PS4. You can read our hands-on thoughts on the remastered game from back in October.
