We’ve known for a few days that Fortnite Battle Royale’s Season 4 is imminent, with players being told to “Brace for Impact” this morning. However, we now know exactly when the game will be taken offline to prepare for the new season and whatever it brings with it.
Via the Fortnite Twitter, Epic has revealed that “Downtime for the Season 4 update is scheduled for tomorrow, May 1 at 4:00am Eastern Time (08:00 GMT),” meaning that the game will be down for maintenance for a period of time tomorrow morning before the update arrives. They didn’t reveal exactly how long the maintenance will last, or when we can expect the update to be available, but it will probably be a few hours after the scheduled downtime begins.

The update will probably see the culmination of what’s been happening with the comet that’s been soaring above Fortnite Battle Royale’s map for sometime. We don’t know exactly what will happen once impact is confirmed, but it’ll likely be clear once the update goes live tomorrow. With teases on the Fortnite Twitter, theories about the imminent destruction of Tilted Towers, and meteors falling during matches late last week, excitement has been high for the update.
Fortnite Battle Royale will be down for maintenance from 4:00 am EDT on May 1. For more on Season 4 and the result of the comet’s impact, keep checking back with Twinfinite.
