How to Break Metal Blocks in Super Mario Odyssey
If you’ve been busy collecting power moons in Super Mario Odyssey, chances are you’ve probably seen some massive metal blocks laying around the different kingdoms. Of course, no ground pound or throwing your hat at it is going to crack them, so here’s what you need to do to break metal blocks in Super Mario Odyssey.
There’s one of these metal blocks in every one of Super Mario Odyssey’s kingdoms, and until you’ve beaten the game, you can’t actually break them. However, once you’ve finished the story and defeated the final boss, if you return to them, you’ll notice that they’re opened a bit and a bright light is seeping out from them. Go ahead and hit the metal blocks, and a short animation will play where it shoots off into the sky.
This is because they’re actually moons rocks. Once you hit them, they return to the skies and unlock a bunch more power moons for that kingdom. As such, it’s a good idea to go ahead and break all of these as soon as you finish the main story. That way, you’ll have a ton more opportunities to boost your power moon tally in the end game.
And that’s all there is to it. For more on Super Mario Odyssey, be sure to check out our ever-expanding wiki.
